Independent Spotlight: Tapes on Tape (Garrison Panyan)
Garrison is a son-of-a-bitch. |
Garrison Panyan, who operates under the moniker 'Tapes on Tape', is a chap I knew from back home in Michigan. He frequents his hours in seclusion, filling his time with recording music and experimenting with new sounds and textures. His catalog is large, diverse, and totally free to stream at:
Garrison blowing your fucking mind. |
He hails from metro-Detroit, and has been manicuring his solo outfit for the last couple years. Born in '86, he grew up playing music in various groups... all of which range from progressive outfits to noise, as well as improvisational-based electronic projects. I feel his solo work deserves attention, it is unique and simply unclassifiable. Take a minute to familiarize yourself with it, preferably with a nice pair of headphones.www.reverbnation.com/garrisonpanyan
Get at his work.

Came across a couple Denver Post photo archives courtesy of Kate Flood (Thank You BTW) documenting American life in the early to mid 20th century. You can see the full piece here if you'd like. Thought I would post a few I thought stood out.
